Getting Official

Last Friday I dropped withdrawal forms off at both of the boys' middle schools. I had had the paperwork to do this for a while, but I had been putting it off for a couple of reasons. For one thing, if for some reason we ended up not going on the trip it would be a huge pain to re-enroll them. So I wanted to do it as late in the process as possible. Big News

Laurel Academy is reopening, and for a much happier reason this time! We are doing a six-month sabbatical in Spain starting Feb. 1. We are withdrawing both boys from public school and enrolling them in homeschool for an educational European adventure. It's been two and a half years since I took my fake shingle for my fake school back inside and I had to do some research to figure out again how to start homeschooling in DE. Not surprisingly, my private-school ID had been removed from the system so I had to start over by requesting a new ID so that I can set up my school. I'm hoping I can reestablish rather than completely start over, but we'll see. Boring stuff for now; maybe I'll have interesting posts once school's in session?
